Iran-P5+1 talks constructive: Russia

Representatives of the P5+1 group of six world powers and Iran's chief negotiator Saeed Jalili (R) attend a meeting in Baghdad, May 23, 2012.

Russia calls the latest round of talks between Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers in the Iraqi capital "constructive," as the parties are slated to hold more negotiations in Moscow next month.

“The round was held in a constructive and business-like atmosphere despite the differences in approaches that remain," the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The statement added that world powers offered Iran a set of proposals in Baghdad concerning its enrichment of uranium to 20 percent.

Iran and the P5+1 wrapped up their meeting in Baghdad on Thursday after two days of negotiations.

The Iranian negotiating delegation was headed by the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili, and the delegations of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany were headed by the EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton.

Both sides agreed to hold another round of talks in Moscow on June 18-19.
