Tel Aviv District Police arrested three individuals Tuesday on suspicion of belonging to a network which smuggled women abroad for prostitution.
According to police, the three - identified as Igor Wyman, Arkadi Kizner and Anna Kurtayev - were part of a network that has been involved in the trafficking dozens of Russian-speaking Israeli women to work as prostitutes in Canada.
The suspects allegedly posted advertisements in Russian-language newspapers in Israel seeking women for work in escort services in Canada.
Police said that on their arrival in Canada, the women were forced to work in prostitution. After a month, however, those women who insisted on leaving were allowed to do so.
The suspects will be brought to Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Wednesday for indictment.
